There’s family fun to be had at South Devon Railway this October.

Jump aboard South Devon Railway for great-value fun family days out on October 5 and 6, when you can enjoy steam-hauled heritage train rides alongside the stunning river Dart, plus free entry to Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies and Totnes Rare Breeds Farm – all for one amazing price.

At Buckfastleigh Station, see otters from around the world, watch them swim in the underwater viewing area, and walk through the greenhouses amid a vast array of beautiful butterflies. Then head down the line to Totnes Riverside Station for a fun stop at the Totnes Farm Park, where you can cuddle guinea pigs, feed the goats, and see a variety of rare breeds, including an impressive parliament of owls.

Family tickets (two adults and two children) cost £64 if booked online in advance, a saving of more than £62 off the normal price.

South Devon Railway is one of Devon’s and the West Country’s best-loved tourist attractions and is the longest-established steam railway in the South West, celebrating more than 50 years in preservation. The SDR is a seven-mile former Great Western Railway branch line, built in 1872, which runs along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Buckfastleigh and Totnes.
