The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s annual Summer Heritage Diesel Gala is all set to go this coming weekend with the diesel fleet firing on all cylinders for an action-packed July 12-14.

Final preparations are underway, with the home locomotive line-up being bolstered with the arrival of the previously announced Sulzer Type 2/British Rail Class 26 No. 5310. The Welsh-based ‘Sulzer’ arrived safely at the railway’s motive power depot at Toddington on July 9, and is appearing courtesy of the Llangollen Railway and The Llangollen Diesel Group.

A host of exhibitors and traders are all set to participate over the weekend, with those confirmed including Cheltenham Model Centre, Jill’s Trains, Pixel Shack, Pathfinder Railtours, Rail Image Collections, The Growler Group, Cotswold Mainline Diesel Group (CMDG), The Ivatt Diesel Recreation Society, and The GWR Trust (GWRT).
