Discover the story of the Underground at London Transport Museum’s ‘Big Build’ Depot Open Days event this June.

London Transport Museum is throwing open the doors of its Museum Depot in Acton this June (16-18). Rarely open to the public, this working Museum store houses a collection of over 320,000 historical objects including vintage vehicles, maps, signs and unusual objects from London’s transport past.

At ‘The Big Build’ Depot Open Days event ticket holders can explore this transport treasure trove and take part in activities inspired by the 160th birthday of the Underground.

Join talks from Museum curators, get creative in craft workshops, meet costumed characters from key points in the Underground’s history, climb aboard vintage vehicles, and explore weird and wonderful objects from London’s past – including original versions of the now iconic diagrammatic London Tube map, first issued 90 years ago in 1933.

16-18 June. Adult tickets cost £17.50 and £8.50 for children. Children aged 3 and under go free.
