Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is offering free travel for children when they bring their favourite teddy bear friend along for a scenic ride on the iconic steam railway this February half-term.
Each visitor aged 3-15 years can take a free journey on-board the heritage steam railway when accompanied by a full fare-return paying adult.
Kids can run free at the fantastic outdoor play-areas located at both the Ravenglass and Dalegarth stations, plus visitors can explore 150 years of La’al Ratty at the Ravenglass Museum, which is free to enter and features delightful model trains, hands-on interactive displays and special exhibitions.
During 2022 there is an exhibition about the fabulous story behind the recently restored Camping Coaches, Elmira and Maid of Kent.
Those who are visiting the area will be in luck if they are staying at the Tewitfield Marina, as the Lake District Estates’ Holiday Park will be giving out free ‘George the Giraffes’ to all of their young guests to make sure they won’t miss out on the fantastic free offer too.
Families are encouraged to pre-book their teddy’s day-out on the railway online, using the code TEDDIES22.
However they will still need to bring their favourite teddy bear friend on the day to claim their free travel.
Rachel Bell, Head of Marketing and Business Development at Lake District Estates says, “We look forward to welcoming all of the cuddly teddies onto the railway.
“It’s a great opportunity for families to get out and explore the Western Lake District over the holidays, and we are delighted to offer those visitors at the Tewitfield Marina their own George the Giraffe friend to bring along too.”
The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is opening specially for two weeks only for the February half-term, before reopening officially for the 2022 season from March 19.
